Saturday 24th September saw Moor Mead play a highly enjoyable friendly fixture vs the Mall School.
Moor Mead split their charges into two 5 a side squads who were lead by Tw1's Clough/Taylor, Keane/O'Neill management combo of Will H and Sean O'N.
Up first, the Pumas put on a well organised display with good positional play and passing: substitute Felix L, on debut, broke the deadlock with a wonder strike that led to a 1-0 victory. In subsequent games, the spoils were shared - highlights being Danny O Neills skill on the ball and Bessie's long range strike with her laces.
O'Neill's Jaguars showed plenty of spirit with Jack Franks making some inspired saves in goal, Finn B showing plenty of tricks and Tom Stretton defending resolutely and intelligently. Again, the matches vs The Mall school were tight - the Mall School doing particularly well given that their squad numbered only 8 players.
